/PaperSeed is dedicated to the importance of education and teaching. So this blogger was intrigued by Nicholas Kristof’s recent editorial, “The Value of Teachers”. According to a recent study by economists at Harvard and Columbia, having a good fourth grade teacher makes a student more likely to attend college and less likely to become pregnant as a teen.
But the biggest benefit? Students with a good fourth grade teacher go on to earn, on average, $25,000 more than their peers with mediocre or poor teachers! The full article is here on the NY Times website.
